PreSchool-Grade 2-- In Clover County , Orville and Willa Wright, with their three children Alexander, Graham, and Belle, enter a carrot contest. Each one sets out to grow a prize-winner; when Belle's carrot appears to be failing, the other members secretly help it along. This pedestrian adventure starring a beaver family of inventors does avoid the "Look, Dick, look" found in many books of this genre. Super Camper also sidesteps stilted dialogue, but is of marginal interest. While inventive, it is incredibly far-fetched. On the first day of the Wright's summer vacation, Orville unveils his new invention, a super camper. Before the trip is over, the family has turned their camper topsy-turvy and rowed down a swelling river; later on they fly home.
