Accessible and thorough, this book is ideal for the power user who needs the complete story on NT issues such as installation and setup, how to use the NT Registry, how to customize the look and feel of the operating system, security, and Internet and other network configurations. The new edition covers topics including Internet Explorer 4.x, additional Internet and intranet issues, DirectX, and more. The book even includes a chapter titled, "Using NT on Laptops Really!," which covers the once barely conceivable idea of configuring NT Workstation on a portable. Though the book is primarily aimed at the Workstation product, it does discuss network administration, server management, disaster recovery, and other topics that seem a bit more server side.
