We carried our lunch to school in small molasses buckets which consisted of whatever we had left over from the previous day. About the Author:

Mary Haralson Coleman, a Mississippi history maker, is a native of Harperville, Mississippi. She was one of the first female licensed barbers in her home state. She founded Trendsetters College of Barbering and Style. She is a gospel singer and a recorded artist. Starkishia, a native of Swainsboro, Georgia, and a current resident of Jackson, Mississippi, is the coauthor of Mary’s Story & Song. Starkishia is an award winning author of Starkishia: Estrella, her memoir.
