Synopsis

Michael Pickup, a skilled but trouble-prone RAF pilot in the squadron which ferries agents and saboteurs in and out of Nazi-occupied Europe, finds himself despatched to neutral Sweden on an extraordinary political-warfare mission. About the Author:

Philip Purser is a literature instructor living with his wife in Bethlehem, Georgia. He is an avid herp and fish hobbyist, having authored many articles and books on these and other topics. He spends much of his time photographing wildlife.

Purser competently evokes the WWII atmosphere in this tense and gripping story. A combination of thrilling adventure, a serious theme, a heroic central character, and even some gentle humor make this a good choice for WWII fiction readers who like the Herman Wouk approach to historical fiction.
