Unique characters supported by a loud-mouth parrot start a restaurant only to find a large sum of money hidden in the walls. Their competitor claims the money belongs to him. He tries to drive them out of business by burglary; shooting at one of the owners; birdnapping their pet parrot; torching their building; kidnapping their daughter; and holding them at gun point to recover the money. When his efforts fail, he attempts to kill the two main characters.

About the Author:

After earning advanced degrees from Eastern Michigan University, the author taught physical education, American history and American government. He returned to his studies in 1977, earning a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. After practicing in Marietta and Swainsboro, Georgia, he moved to Athens, Georgia to write and practice. His article, Growing up with World War Two, was published in the Old Morgan County Magazine in 2000. In 2002 an excerpt from The Blankenschipf Curse, was published in O, Georgia! A Collection of Georgias Newest and Most Promising Writers. He is currently writing a novel entitled Moochies Place.

I just finished reading Jim Murdock's novel, MOOCHIE'S PLACE. It's all about running a restaurant in downtown Athens, GA, my home town. Jim has created some unique characters - and I can envision them in downtown Athens. It's a hoot. Dac Crossley
