Soon, Little Sheep is invited to dinner at the home of her new friend Little Wolf, where she discovers that her parents are on the menu. Although there are amusing aspects to this fractured retelling and a focus on the positive power of friendship, Hartman's repeated references to the wolves' preference for human flesh are disturbing (For example, Little Wolf's mother always makes him a "big bowl of Stu," the farmer, for lunch).
