PreSchool-K?Each page of this book features an animal in its natural habitat along with a drawing of a boy and girl who mimic the way the creature moves. A two- or four-line rhyming verse describes the movement, and a section at the back of the book ("Animal Actions for Beginners") provides written and stick-figure instructions on how to perform it. Quentin Blake-like human figures in the illustrations have verve and humor; the animals are less engaging. The verse is awkward at times, and meanings may elude the intended audience. Teachers may find the book useful for its whole-body action descriptions, and children may well delight in "aping" their favorite animals.?Lisa Falk, Los Angeles Public Library.
