[Transcribed by Ralph Leighton]

[Read by Raymond Todd]

Nobel Prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman possessed an unquenchable thirst for adventure and an unparalleled ability to tell the stories of his life. In these two perennially popular, bestselling memoir collections, Feynman weaves his views on modern science together with his outrageous life experiences a combustible mixture of intelligence, curiosity, skepticism, and chutzpah.

In Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman! , Feynman recounts his adventures trading ideas on atomic physics with Einstein and Bohr, gambling with Nick the Greek, painting a naked female toreador, and much else of an eyebrow-raising and hilarious nature.

In What Do You Care What Other People Think? , Feynman introduces us to his first love, who lay dying in a nearby hospital while he worked on the atomic bomb at Los Alamos, and shares his brilliant experiment which revealed the cause of the space shuttle Challenger's explosion.

Review:

''Proves once again that it is possible to laugh out loud and scratch your head at the same time.'' --New York Times Book Review

''Raymond Todd gives an extraordinary performance, bringing to evanescent life the amusing adventures of this Nobel Prize-winning physicist.'' --Library Journal

''Mr. Feynman's escapades are worthy of being read aloud . . . Raymond Todd seems to get as much pleasure out of the diversities of Feynman's career as the scientist did through living them.'' --AudioFile

''Quintessential Feynman-funny, brilliant, bawdy.'' --New Yorker

''A chain reaction is not a bad analogy for Feynman's life. From a critical mass of gray matter it goes off in all directions, producing both light and heat.'' --Time

''Feynman is legendary among his colleagues for his brilliance and his eccentricity . . . it's hard not to smile all the way through.'' --Newsweek

''Hilarious, exhilarating . . . Feynman's language is vivid, lively, and unpretentious . . . A refreshing message, indeed.'' --Chicago Sun-Times
