About the Author:

Scott C. Davis served as a social worker in Richmond, Virginia, in 1971 and 1972. The World of Patience Gromes, based on his work in Virginia, was first published in 1988 and, in 1989, won the Governor's Writers Award (Washington State). Davis now lives with his wife in Seattle. His writing has appeared in the New York Times and the Christian Science Monitor. Lost Arrow, his book of true stories, was published in 1995.
