About the Author:

Monica Moran Brandies has written or collaborated on more than eleven books, including Shade Gardening for Florida, A Cutting Garden for Florida and The Florida Gardener's Book of Lists. Her newest book, Landscaping With Tropical Gardens, was published in January, 2004.

Once a regular contributor to the garden pages of the Des Moines Register and the Tampa Tribune, she now writes weekly garden and lifestyle pages for the Brandon News and Sunbelt Newspapers.

Like most gardeners, she is learning something new all the time. She manages to get her garden decent enough to invite her readers once a year. The rest of the time she uses for experimentation and therapy.
