Two theologians, Ted Grimsrud and Mark Thiessen Nation, argue both sides of an issue that is vexing the postmodern church: homosexuality. This book develops the give-and-take over the differences between the two scholars, but it also offers areas of agreement and consensus.

Ted Grimsrud is Professor of Theology and Peace Studies at Eastern Mennonite University. He is an author and editor of numerous books including Embodying the Way of Jesus: Anabaptist Convictions for the 21st Century (Wipf and Stock, 2007); co-editor, Transforming the Powers: Peace, Justice, and the Domination System (Fortress, 2006).
Mark Thiessen Nation is Associate Professor of Theology at Eastern Mennonite Seminary. Well-known as a scholar and editor of John Howard Yoder books, his titles have included John Howard Yoder: Mennonite Patience, Evangelical Witness, Catholic Convictions (Eerdmans, 2006) and Karl Barth and the Problem of War and Other Essays by John Howard Yoder (Cascade, 2003).
The authors make their respective cases with in-depth examinations of what the Scriptures teach about homosexuality and what the empirical evidence tells us about God's homosexual children. They also provide insights and information that will enlighten future discussions about homosexual people.
--Tony and Peggy Campolo, from the foreword
A courageous exercise in hope. All readers, regardless of strength of position or state of confusion, will find much in this book to destablize certainties that need to be rattled, much to shore up inadequately grounded convictions, and much to help understand those who think differently. This is no small gift.
--Thomas R. Yoder Neufeld, author of Ephesians, Believers Church Bible Commentary
Ted and Mark are bold in their own declarations and gut-wrenchingly forthright in their critique of each other. But their abiding mutual respect and Christian charity shines through.
--Phil Kniss, Park View Mennonite Church
