It is indeed a beautiful book celebrating Amerindian craftsmanship of exceptional aesthetic quality. I am struck by such gems as the numerous large-scale and superbly highlighted color photographs of 18th and 19th century quillwork and beadwork. The unanticipated but most welcome inclusion of the Karl Bodner pictorial "details" provides a striking historical and contextualizing bonus."
