LIVE IN JAPAN is a large format, full color book featuring almost 500 previously unpublished photographs. The foreword by Eric Clapton explains how George was persuaded to return to touring after a break of 17 years. The first (and longest) chapter is written by George himself and details his thoughts and feelings on taking to the road after such a long absence. It includes George's personal recollections of the tour and memories of times on the road with The Beatles. Subsequent chapters are written by each member of Eric Clapton's band and reveal private moments behind the scenes, during sound checks, on stage and in transit. The final chapter by John Harris (who engineered the LIVE IN JAPAN CD) provides a revealing account of working with George Harrison in the studio. The book also includes a full itinerary of the tour. LIVE IN JAPAN includes a double CD with original artwork and a total of 19 live tracks. A souvenir pack containing a laminated 'After Show' pass and Eric's and George's guitar picks accompanies this volume. At the end of 1991, George Harrison teamed up with Eric Clapton and band for a 12-date tour of Japan. It was George's first tour since 1974 and the first time that George and Eric had appeared together in a full concert since the 1971 concert for Bangla Desh--the forerunner to Live Aid! This large-format volume, bound in full black leather, tells in the words of George, and those of the band and the crew, the complete story of that historic tour. Almost 500 previously unpublished photographs are included together with facsimiles of rare memorabilia. The 274-page book is in fine condition and is printed in full color and gold and red tooling on the black leather covers and includes almost 500 previously unpublished photographs with a Foreword by Eric Clapton and written contributions by George Harrison and each member of Eric Clapton's band. The 2 "Live In Japan" CDs feature 19 live recordings each printed with a specially prepared image unique to this set, and have been played to ensure they are in fine condition -- with an especially rousing version of "Roll Over Beethoven!". Also included in the CD portfolio are George Harrison and Eric Clapton guitar picks and "After Show" laminated passes. The slipcase is in fine condition with a George Harrison/Eric Clapton Tour '91 label on the front and an attached silk lift-up ribbon. A magnificent set and quite heavy. A second slim volume, titled "The Recordings," includes two CDs with two printed pages of disc song titles and a glassine envelope with an "After Show" ticket, a metal chain that holds an "All Access" pass, and four guitar picks.
