About the Author:
Hugh Crandall, since his retirement from the Navy in 1960, has contributed much toward helping Americans understand their National Parks. He lived and worked at Yellowstone National Park for several years as interpretive consultant to the National Park Service and as Director of the Yellowstone Institute. His familiarity with the neighboring Grand Teton National Park has enabled him to bring to these pages a great appreciation for and knowledge of this rugged but friendly park.
