An action plan to end racism in America, Ending Apartheid in America presents an historical analysis on the institutional nature of racism in America, from the invasions of Christopher Columbus, the slave trade and Jim Crow to current forms of institutional racism which is creating a permanent urban underclass. The book analyzes the roots of American racism, and presents an action plan to dismantle institutional racism, culturally and politically, through a national political party of which reparations is the centerpiece for financing a non-racist society. The book presents scenarios and strategies to bring reparations to the forefront of the national dialogue, as well as action plans to raise consciousness, develop community education campaigns, organize politically and administer grass roots democracy at the community and national levels.

Review:
"This is an excellent work: thought-provoking, carefully argued and offering important prescriptions for specific constructive action. It deserves to be carefully read, widely distributed and seriously discussed. I have a high regard for Art Serota who has made important practical contributions to better the lives of others and who has combined careful thought with positive action."
