About the Author:

Born to a white father who disappeared before she arrived, and to a Kickapoo-Navajo mother who left her at birth, Crying Wind constantly heard that her life was worthless. She had few meaningful relationships beyond a grandmother who gave her a strong sense of her Navajo heritage and an uncle who shared his thoughts and restlessness.

An artist and writer, Crying Wind is the mother of four grown children. She currently lives on the Big Island of Hawaii.
