About the Author:
For over 25 years, Cliff Mariani was a member of the New York City Police Department. As a patrol officer, he had more than frequent occasion to deal with domestic abusers, their victims and the "system" which is expected to work on their behalf.

Cliff began his writing career in the early 1970's. With an eye for detail and a skill with words, he wrote unique and innovative study and reference publications for the law enforcement community.

Catching the attention of the Director of Modern Promotion Courses, Inc., of Flushing, N.Y., Cliff signed on as an assistant editor. In that capacity, he reviewed and updated all legal and topical materials that required amending or other necessary revisions.

Currently, as a research writer and consultant to Looseleaf Law Publications, Inc., he combines his law enforcement, publishing and administrative background with his creative talents, to write and edit numerous reference guides and study manuals for the law enforcement and criminal justice communities.
