About the Author:
The Author is a veteran teacher of young men in juvenile detension settings. She has tailored the novel to their reading ability and interest. The guide grew out of their need to discuss the war and violence both personal and in general. The novel and guide have been classroon tested. Students give the book high marks by improving their level of performance and behavior in general. The author, Karon Booth, also is the author of a Guidebook for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
