Facsimile reprint of the 1939 First Edition. A limited Edition of 250 copies each individually numbered. A comprehensive account of Franklin's expedition compiled from published and unpublished sources at the time. Richard Julius Cyriax, 1885-1967, was born in Canonbury and became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians with the department of Public Health in 1917. He was interested from an early age in the ill-fated British Naval Northwest Passage Expedition, 1845-1848, and became a leading authority on the subject. His book concentrates on the events of the expedition itself and not the subsequent searches that were undertaken. A scarce well regarded work.
