Dave Anderson, a Los Angeles journalist, receives a note from his friend, Mac Dunleavy, that he - Mac - will be dead by the time Dave receives the note. Mac asks Dave to sell a sampan Mac owns in Hong Kong and look after the sampan girl, Ming Toy.
Thus begins a story of one of the biggest international swindles of our time, and ends on Borneo in a skull house in the jungle outside of Kuching.
As usual, The Gordons develop fascinating characters...Felicia Yee, a beautiful, intelligent, young Chinese woman who is in the dangerous business of selling secrets...Mac's stunning-looking wife "sculpted of marble"... Inspector Peter Yeung, a quiet, devious detective...Alfred Kwan, a suave modern-day taipan who commands a shipping empire... Barney, the PR man for Khun Sa, ruler of the Golden Triangle...and Ming Toy, the sampan girl, simple, honest, lovable, marked for death by the Triad, the secret Chinese society.
The story incorporates all the suspense, adventure and romance for which The Gordons are noted.
