About the Author:

Pete Babich is an electrical engineer. He learned the concepts of Hoshin Kanri while employed at Hewlett-Packard. He facilitated Hoshin implementation at the San Diego Division back in 1986. SDD was not the first HP division to implement Hoshin Kanri, but it was recognized as a "best practice" for Hoshin implementation. Pete left HP in 1991 to form Total Quality Engineering Inc. Since that time, he has helped numerous organizations is all industry segments to implement Hoshin Kanri. The Hoshin Handbook has been the basis for his Hoshin workshops and Hoshin Kanri software.
