About the Author:

A lifelong western North Dakota farmer and rancher, Dean Meyer began writing columns while serving a 10-year stint in the North Dakota Legislature, beginning in 1971. This was followed by monthly columns in the North Dakota Stockman's Association magazine, while he was the group's president. In 1994 the North Dakota Water magazine became home to a monthly column, which continues today. And, Dean has since added to his audience the readers of The Range Magazine, published in New Mexico, and 12 weekly newspapers.
