Letters From Baby Doe: Messages of Hope, Love and Forgiveness is a short fictional story with a prolife message. Part One of this book begins with a short, fictional story that explains the origins of the letters that are presented later in Part Two.

The letters are written by children lost through abortion and convey messages of hope, love, and forgiveness toward their mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and grandparents. The letters carry a positive message while clearly encouraging the prolife viewpoint.

This insightful book offers hope for post-abortive mothers, urges caution for abortion-minded women and provides insight for those who are unfamiliar with the lifelong effects of abortion.

All who recognize the sanctity of life and the preciousness of the unborn will enjoy this book.

This story reminds us that abortion takes the life of an unborn child. In addition, C.K. Wyand explores the consequences abortion has brought to the private lives of countless mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and grandparents.

Through the letters, C. K. Wyand conveys a message that will uplift and encourage those most affected by abortion as they walk through life in search of hope and healing.

Letter Three

Dear Mommy,

On my third birthday, I watched you drive out of town. You wanted it to be a special day for me, so you asked for time off work. It took you all day to get to the mountains, and while you drove, you thought about what it would be like to have a toddler in the house.

You couldn’t stop crying as you thought of me. It had been a while since you visited that special place near the top of Lutsen Mountain. You brought a guitar, along with your favorite stationary, and some blue flowers, because your favorite color is blue.

You parked the car in the unpaved parking area. The trail was overgrown from lack of use, and you thought it strange that more people hadn’t found this place. The spectacular view opened wide before you, taking your breath away. At the base of the old tree was the round stone with a flat bottom you put there last year as a memorial to me. The flowers you placed next to the rock had long since blown away, but the stone was still there.

My name was there too, where you had carved it into the side of the tree. The number two appeared under it and the date, 2002 was beside it. You walked up to the tree and rubbed your hand over my name. You sat on the patchy grass and prayed to God for forgiveness, healing, and restored hope. Then you pulled out your guitar and played a song you wrote for me this year. I listened, and all my friends in Heaven listened with me. Your face was moist with tears as you sat for a long time, looking out over the valley. Then you wrote a letter telling me how sorry you were for what happened and asking for my forgiveness. You’re forgiven, Mom. I’d forgive you a million times.

When the sun began to sink, you carved another year in the hard tree trunk, below my name. God knows the name you chose for me, he whispered it in my ear the moment you decided. It means so much to me that I never say it out loud, I only think it in my heart. Thanks for remembering me, Mom. I am here in Heaven waiting for you.

Always hopeful,
Your son
