About the Author:
Can you imagine having six children and not being able to write a grocery list? Childhood trauma robbed Ethel Joan Miller-Reith of the ability to write. As a young girl, she had her classmates and family spellbound with her story-telling, but writing them down was another story. It was much later in life when her daughter, who loved her stories, suggested she write them down. With determination and faith, Ethel began the daunting task of learning to write the stories that filled her heart. Along the way, her love for writing and the arts grew, and she shared it with all who would listen. As a Youth Minister, she commissioned her children, grandchildren and the young people she met to use their gifts and talents. She visited schools and told the seeds of a story teller, explaining the creative process. Ethel did overcome her childhood trauma on her journey to becoming an author. Along the way, many people told her it was impossible. But it was the people who told her that she was gifted and could accomplish anything that she listened to. Today she is recognized as a local author by the Westport, CT library. Her love for the Bible and Christmas, her large family and years as a youth minister were all contributing factors that led to her Christmas Play, A Golden Bell a Pomegranate and a Golden Bell.
