"Jody and I have been kidding around the Gorge since we moved here a few years ago. Although there are great books about the Gorge, there wasn't anything specific for kids." said co-author Ruth Berkowitz.

"We didn't want to list everything there is to do; we wanted to give information about what we felt were the best places to take your kids. And we wanted the book to be fun to read," said co-author Jody Barringer. The names of the chapters, like "Monkeying Around the Playground," "Hikes with Tikes," and "Rockin' Rock Throwing Locales" attest to the authors' goal of light-heartedness.

About the Author:

We've been kidding around the Gorge since we moved to Hood River a few years ago. Both of us are moms of two young kids.
