About the Author:
N'Dri T. Assie-Lumumba earned her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. She is currently professor in the African Studies and Research Center at Cornell University where she is a member of several graduate fields. She has served as director of the Cornell Program on Gender and Global Change. She is Chercheur Associ' CRAU at the Universit' de Cocody (Abidjan, C'te d'Ivoire) and research affiliate of the Institute for Higher Education Law and Governance of the University of Houston. She is co-founder of CEPARRED. Her extensive publications include her books Les Africaines dans la Politique: Femmes Baoul' de C'te d'Ivoire; Cyberspace, Distance Learning, and Higher Education in Developing Countries: Old and Emergent Issues of Access, Pedagogy, and Knowledge Production; Higher Education in Africa: Crises, Reforms, and Transformation and the co-edited book African Voices in Education. She is a fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science.
