About the Author:
Merry L. Gumm was born and grew up in Kansas graduating from Augusta High School. She graduated from Emporia State University with a BS in Business in 1971 and from Wichita State University in Education. She has lived in south central Kansas all her life. Mrs. Gumm taught English in Derby, Kansas, middle school for 16 years giving her an understanding of the problems kids face and ways to solve them. Her unique, humorous style makes solving those problems a little less painful. She retired from teaching in 2004.
