From the Inside Flap:
"What makes JRJ's work stand out from his contemporaries' is the strange sense of empathy--in that regard he is not unlike David Foster Wallace's wicked and perhaps deranged younger brother. Sometimes the horror is so understated that it's deadly. JRJ has the ability to balance sheer humanity with sheer grotesquerie."--21C MAGAZINE
"I'm a longtime fan of Johnson. A master of derangement, he's been bringing it for years."--LAIRD BARRON, author of The Beautiful Thing That Awaits Us All
"[I]f you could marry well-crafted literature to stories of visceral horror, you would be holding Angel Dust Apocalypse in your hands... Johnson is probably a few books away from doing for horror what Jonathan Lethem did for science fiction. Plain and simple? Forget horror; this is good fiction. From stem to stern, each story will amaze you..."-- GIRL ON DEMAND
"Johnson weaves vivid and fascinatingly grotesque tales regarding such things as a group of extreme body modification addicts (one of whom is pretty much made out of vegetables) to a cockroach suit that helps its maker survive WWIII. [T]hese stories...have been given serious treatment and emerge as fantastic and often graphic scenarios full of characters you hate to love."-- BOOKGASM
"[Johnson] excels at pathology and perversity... A confirmed weirdo and authentic writer of uncommon emotional depth who deserves to be watched."-- CEMETERY DANCE
"Angel Dust Apocalypse hits the reader in the gut and goes to work... Within these pages the dark underbelly of the human subconscious is captured: those things that people think about but never mention... I could not put this book down..."-- RAZORCAKE
"In its most twisted moments, Johnson's writing is too gleeful to pigeon-hole as strictly 'horror,' and when he steps outside the gross-out game, he transcends most other straight literary writers. Angel Dust Apocalypse is every bit as smart as it is gut-churning, and every bit as moving and introspective as it is horrifying and humorous."-- VERBICIDE
"Where postmodern fails to offer direction, Jeremy Robert Johnson's Angel Dust Apocalypse builds bright trail markers out of luminescent beetle guts and fetal sinew."-- THIRDEYE MAGAZINE
"Admirably devious, laugh-out-loud sick, and shockingly smart, Jeremy Robert Johnson blew me away with Angel Dust Apocalypse. Surrealist horror -- absurdist excess -- and pure postmodern fun. You absolutely must read this book right away. It'll change you in a way you couldn't imagine."-- MICHAEL A. ARNZEN, author of 100 Jolts and Play Dead
"In one inky scream Jeremy Robert Johnson has established himself as a virtuoso counter-culture voice that must be heard. You are guaranteed to enjoy this finely orchestrated literary Armageddon."-- JOHN EDWARD LAWSON, author of Last Burn in Hell
