The official Anais Nin literary journal. This issue includes a tribute to Rupert Pole, Nin's long time California companion, who died July 2006, in the form of correspondence between him and Harcourt editor John Ferrone during the genesis of Nin's first unexpurgated diary, 'Henry and June.' Also included is correspondence between Anais Nin and legendary publisher Alan Swallow during the birth of the original diary, along with articles and essays by Benjamin Franklin V, Nancy Gobatto, Sarah King, Yuko Yaguchi, Peter Christensen, and Heather Darcy, and a poem by Morton Traub. Photos, reviews and summaries of current literature and events are included. The journal has an accompanying web site and online discussion group.

About the Author:

Anais Nin (1903-1977) is best known for her Paris diaries, which, when published in the sixties and seventies, influenced a generation of readers. Posthumously published were two volumes of erotica ('Delta of Venus' and 'Little Birds') written for a collector in the forties for a dollar a page, which ironically became bestsellers. Beginning in 1986, unexpurgated diaries from the Paris years began to appear, the first of which inspired the Philip Kaufman movie "Henry and June" (1990). The echoes of Nin's tulmultuous and ultimately triumphant writing career can be found in 'A Cafe in Space.'
