Haute Cuisine was realized ultimately to showcase legendary cooking of the past 40 years. There is no l950s franchise food here, rather you ll find the care, thought, planning and talent that culminate in a cuisine specific to a place, a time and a people. Along with that cuisine, AIDS Project of the Ozarks has chosen very deliberately to illustrate Haute Cuisine with art of the very highest caliber, including a cover by renowned artist Brad Noble.

About the Author:
Proceeds from the purchase of Haute Cuisine benefit AIDS Project of the Ozarks. APO began as a grass-roots organization in 1985 and now serves a 29-county region in Southwest Missouri, providing case management, medication management, dietitian services and personal care items for people with HIV/AIDS; support for clients families and caregivers; education for area health care providers; HIV/AIDS testing and counseling; and prevention education for at-risk populations and the community at large.
Review:
The Art of Cooking The AIDS Project of the Ozarks enlists the help of local artists and chefs to spice up 417-land kitchens. A new cookbook is featuring 340 recipes by the region s finest chefs and showcasing many of 417-land s most acclaimed artists all of whom lent their work to the charity project for free. It s part of a fundraiser for AIDS Project of the Ozarks that celebrates fine food, fine art and the turnaround of downtown Springfield, which has been helped along by restaurants and art galleries. With the release of Haute Cuisine, APO s head of fundraising, William Brandon Bucky Bowman, has assembled recipes from chefs such as Peter Tinson of Gallery Bistro, Nicola Gilardi of Gilardi s Ristorante and Mark Cotner, formerly of Rasta Grille. The cover of Haute Cuisine has original art by Brad Noble, whose work ordinarily sells for thousands of dollars. Additional artists lending their work range from up-and-comers like Sean Lyman (edgy lobsters) to the legendary watercolorist Bill H. Armstrong (table in Provence), plus a host of familiar names: Renée Alyson, Jacqueline Warren, Debra Sutherland and Russ Holland. --By Amanda Hornick, 417 Magazine, 10/2007
