About the Author:
Susan Latremoille is an investment professional with more than 20 years of experience in the industry. She worked on the institutional side of the business as a vice president at Merrill Lynch Canada. In the late 1980s she moved to the private client side of the business at RBC Dominion Securities, where she served on and chaired the firm s Private Client Advisory Board (1997 to 1999) and was a member of the firm s prestigious Chairman s Council for 10 years. Susan founded The Latremoille Group in 1990 to provide an unprecedented level of financial management, investment advice, and personalized service to her clients. Since 2004, she has been a Wealth Advisor at Richardson GMP Limited, where she is a First Vice President; she is also a member of the board of directors of Richardson Financial Holdings Limited. Susan believes her role as a financial advisor is to help her clients find the perfect equilibrium between fear and greed, risk and return, growth and income, worry and confidence. She knows that this balance is different for each individual, and that is why candid relationships form the basis of her practice. Retirement planning, estate planning, insurance planning, tax planning, and establishment of appropriate corporate structures are among the services that allow Susan to adopt a comprehensive approach to the management of her clients financial assets. Nothing gives her greater pleasure than helping her clients use their wealth to create full and fulfilling lives so that they can Live Well, Give Back, and Leave A Legacy. Susan was recognized for excellence among investment advisors in 1999 when she received the Investment Dealers Association of Canada s Award of Distinction for Ontario. She is a fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute; she achieved the Portfolio Manager designation in 2001; and she holds a Level II Insurance license. She is active in the industry as a member of Women in Capital Markets and the Investment Management Consultants Association. She is also a past member of the Women Presidents Organization, a forum for highly successful Canadian businesswomen. Susan earned her MBA from the Canadian School of Management and her BA from the University of Toronto. As a philanthropist, Susan is A Leading Woman with the United Way, a member of the Canadian Women s Foundation 100, and a SickKids Hospital Foundation Legacy Advisor. She is a past board member of the Children s Aid Society Foundation of Metropolitan Toronto. She has also contributed to the community through her volunteer and financial support of the Wellspring Cancer Support Program, the Canadian Stage Company, Royal Saint George s College, and Whitney Public School. Susan lives in Toronto with her children, Nicholas and Sarah.
