About the Author:
Bruna Petrarca Boyle is Director of the AATI National Italian High School Contest Examination and a lecturer in Italian at the University of Rhode Island. She was a member of the Task Force Committee for the AP Italian Language and Culture Course and served as chairperson of the Foreign Language Department at Narragansett High School in Rhode Island where she taught Italian and Spanish for 31 years. She was born in Fornelli, Italy in the region of Molise where she completed her elementary school education before moving to the United States in 1965. She holds a Bachelor s Degree and a Master s Degree from the University of Rhode Island in Secondary Education with a concentration in Italian, Spanish and French. She also received two Fulbright Scholarships for study at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia in Perugia, Italy.
