Review:
Mote's 18 vignettes are true stories of love, loss, trauma, struggle and recovery that are as instructive as they are mesmerizing and eloquently written. It's like sitting next to Mote as she listens to and counsels her patients -- not as voyeurs, but as sympathetic observers to the tangled mess of life. Clients' identities are protected so the reader can revel in the deft understanding that Mote's therapy requires. --Raising Arizona Kids Magazine
Whether Ms. Mote's helping a 4 year old with a behavioral challenge or a 30 year old with the guilt of abandoning a dying brother, she has the magic ability to lead others through the reality, and many times negativity, of the human condition to a new place of refreshed vision and hope -- gently giving the pained human spirit a new meaning of life and intense self-renewal. These vignettes illustrate how one human being, with compassion and grace, can facilitate not only the curing, but also the healing of others -- as noble a goal as exists in life. --Vic Zannis, MD
