The fate of the world rests in the hands of a boy who stopped taking his Ritalin and is failing his junior year of math. Meet Traven: a slacker and misfit of fashion who now finds himself the Keeper of all time, space, and alternate realities. And he only had to become a murderer to get the job. With faint broken memories of his crime it is up to him and the world's greatest assassin, who would rather kill him than help him, to save humanity from extinction. Join Traven, an unlikely teenage hero, as he tries to save the world and survive puberty in the first book in the series, A Lifetime In Time.

About the Author:
Tim Vaulato was born in 1966 and lives in the Midwest. At a very young age he started to draw on restaurant napkins to ease his boredom when his parents would drag him out to dinner. Around second grade he became obsessed with comic books and that obsession sparked both his interest in drawing and writing. By high school he was enrolled in art and creative writing classes which were the only subjects that his attention deficient mind could focus on. Entering college his grades improved greatly and after a number of years at the Community College he transferred to Northern Illinois University to major in printmaking and art education. He has been an art teacher since 1991 and has taught every level, Kindergarden through 12th grade, and every subject in the art realm, including jewelry, sculpture, photography, drawing, painting, cartooning and animation. He has played bass with the band Harlem Klapsaddle, recording four albums and was with the band Wishbone Jones for fourteen years. He has written over 200 songs, and one rock opera. He is married with two wonderful children that have been named after the characters in his books.
Review:
By: Katherine Peters. Timothy John Vaulato s love of both art and music has finally come together in his latest creative endeavor: a Sci-fi novel. An unexpected venture for an Elgin High School teacher, but a successful one none the less. A Lifetime in Time depicts the happenings of your everyday average misfit teenager turned almost superhero. A kid who is never without a Diet Coke, a sketch pad, and the need to rock is suddenly given the ability to travel in time as the keeper of what is known as the Gateway. He then becomes responsible for saving the Earth from a deadly virus, rescuing a planet of cat people from self-destruction, and fighting off the mysterious and deadly Puzzle Men, all while dealing with the problems that come along with teenage life in general. Starting the novel in high school, Vaulato has taken his time perfecting his work of fiction. He intended to give the science-fiction genre a jolt of electricity and that is exactly what he did. Vaulato took the time old tale of a young boy given an extraordinary super power and made it more relevant. He redid what has already been done, but better. The first book in the future series A Lifetime in Time is definitely worth the read. --Katherine Peters, The Mirror Newspaper
