About the Author:

About the Author ; Don Ehrhardt

Don is now 64 years old and retired, at least that is what he tells everyone. He started writing books four years ago, after an automobile accident messed up his neck, and he had to get out of construction. He owned a piece of commercial property in downtown Forsyth, Mo., so he built and ran a gift shop. He started writing, because business was slow, and he had always wanted to "crank one out".

After completing three chapters he told his son of his latest adventure. His son, who has a Masters in English, and has written articles in news papers and magazines, made the comment; "Dad, you may have started it, but you will never finish it". Now, three and a half books later, Don's enthusiasm for book writing has not diminished.

Don has always excelled at every place he was employed, and his experience has been varied. Here are some of them: Draftsman, Tooling Engineer, Wastewater Construction Engineer, Assistant Plant Engineer, Maintenance Foreman, Senior Draftsman, Gas Pumper, Carry-out Boy, Jewelry Repairer, Journeyman Electrician, Master Plumber, HVAC Installer, Contractor, Boiler Fireman, and Tool Salesman. These experiences have given him a well rounded look at what goes on in an industrial and residential society, helping him to write broad and finite views of "People".

Don has taken Salesmanship courses, starting in high school at Hillcrest in Springfield Mo., then later selling Air Tools, Hand Tools, and Air Products. He can speak before audiences, or teach and speak one on one.

His first book publication was printed on a Xerox machine, 56 copies. All the pages were hand cut and collated. He printed his own book cover, and then had them perfect bound in Ozark, Mo. The copies were all sold in his gift store in the short time span of two weeks.

This last year Don had a chance to sell his shop, and be able to write more. He sold out in January of this year and has a broadened smile on his face since.

His first book signing, at the Metz Book Store in Branson Mo., was what the manager deemed a success, as he sold second to the most books ever sold at that store in one day.

Don is a member of the "Ozark Writers League", and enjoys being with other members interested in writing, published or unpublished.

He normally spends his morning hours writing, so when you call, try and make it in the afternoon.
