About the Author:
The Honorable Stephen L. Ukeiley is a Suffolk County (NY) District Court Judge. He has presided over in excess of 76,000 criminal and civil cases to completion.
Judge Ukeiley is also an adjunct professor of law at both the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, where he teaches Landlord & Tenant Law, and the New York Institute of Technology. He is a frequent lecturer and coordinator of continuing legal education seminars, and was named to the New York State Judicial Institute's Curriculum Advisory Committee for the City, District and Housing Courts.
Judge Ukeiley has had the honor of lecturing on numerous occasions before the State's Judiciary on Landlord & Tenant Law, and, in 2014, the Second Edition of this Book was distributed to every Town and Village Justice Court in New York.
Judge Ukeiley has received numerous awards and honors for exemplary service and commitment to the legal profession. He is also an active member of multiple Bar Associations, including the Suffolk County Bar Association where he co-Chairs the Landlord & Tenant Law Committee and authors a regular law column. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Suffolk County Women's Bar Association.
Judge Ukeiley is a former Principal Law Clerk to both a Federal Magistrate Judge and a New York State Court of Claims and Acting Supreme Court Justice. He earned his Juris Doctor from Hofstra Law School, where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Hofstra Labor Law Journal, and his Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University.
