Comics are cool. Spoken Word is cool. We combined these mediums to push the boundaries of what has been done with poetry and visual arts in Toronto. We bounced around many ideas, coming to the understanding that it was not just about creating something new - we want to tackle important issues through mixed media. Issues of race, gender, identity and diversity are the thematic focus of the book. The launch will showcase live spoken word with projected images from the book in an underground theatre. You bring the popcorn, we'll bring the poetry and the comic world pazazz.
