About the Author:

Marci Fair and her eleven-year-old daughter, Elle, coauthor a series of books about Elle’s two favorite plush animals, Ellie the Elephant and Pudgy the Penguin. As a working mother of four, Marci makes time to read bedtime stories to her kids and also encourages them to read on their own.

A fan of books and stuffed animals both, Elle enjoys collaborating on this creative endeavor with her mom.

In addition to her professional career, Marci founded Kares 4 Kids, a nonprofit organization that has served well over 24,000 children in need since 2005. The Amazing Adventures of Ellie the Elephant - Ellie Goes Back to School is a great book to read to young children who may be nervous about starting school. Ellie and Pudgy take us through what a child would experience on their first day of school. They were nervous at first, but ended up liking school and were excited to go back tomorrow.

I like the real photographs and illustrations on each page. I really like that the story talks about the Buddy Bench and how Ellie and Pudgy go over to get Sparkle the Unicorn to play with them. Students can relate to this book in many different ways.

Ellie Goes Back to School is the 3rd book in the wonderful children's series The Amazing Adventures of Ellie the Elephant. This latest book is an absolutely delightful read that takes readers on a journey through Ellie and Pudgy's first day of school.

I love how the Ellie and Pudgy help to put children at ease as they venture back to the classroom. Ellie and Pudgy also share their apprehension about new things and let readers know they are not alone and that it's okay to be nervous. We join the pair as they experience a school day in much the same way our children will with music, art, and curriculum. They also visit the lunchroom and playground, make new friends, and have a whole lot of fun.

Like the other books in the series, the illustrations, which are actual photographs, are eye-catching and will appeal to readers. The images will also help children visualize what the real life school setting might be like for them helping to curb fears.

This mother-daughter writing team do it again with Ellie Goes Back to School! Another fabulous book in an all around great series.

The Adventures of Ellie the Elephant are among my three-year-old son's most requested books at bedtime, and we'll often read them every night for spans of over a week at a time. The real-world photography provide intriguing yet accessible imagery for him to examine and interpret, and when combined with the soft storytelling, they have a much-needed calming affect on an otherwise busy little boy. Best of all, they encourage him to create his own stories using his own toys.

Ellie Goes Back to School proved to be an excellent choice for my son to prepare him for his first year of preschool. There are plenty of pictures of various classrooms, and the book progresses through a standard routine school day. He became very engaged with the story every time we read it, which contributed to his excitement at starting his own school routines.
