Fixin' to Eat: Southern Cooking For The Southern At Heart is a really good source for recipes and authentic southern dishes.  I like that the directions are easy to follow, even if you are new to Southern cooking ... the recipes make me want to head for the kitchen and get busy creating something delicious.  I found this e-book to be informative and yet simple enough for even someone new to the kitchen to be able to create a yummy dish or complete meal and serve it with confidence.

The recipes in this e-book are mouth watering!  I want to try making most of these dishes. Katie provides a nice list of meal to make from breakfast to starters, main dishes, side dishes and the best part of any course: dessert!  This cookbook has a little bit of everything. Buttermilk biscuits? Check. Cornmeal gravy? Oh yeah! Did someone say honey cola ham? ... and the list goes on and on!

This is a great cookbook filled with different twists on old recipes, and then some new recipes that I've never heard of like Coca Cola Salad.  Many of these recipes seem very easy to make, and I can see my kids learning to make recipes like Cream Cheese and Pimento Stuffed Celery in the kitchen.  There are also some great tips included in the book as well like how to pair wines with certain dishes. I am definitely going to try out the recipe for the Self-Crust Coconut Pie which sounds AMAZING!
