About the Author:
Joel Barlow was a chaplain in the Revolutionary army and a member of a group of federalist poets known as the Hartford Wits, who modeled their political satire on Alexander Pope's ""Duncaid."" Arthur Ford is a professor emeritus of English at Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania. He is the author of "Joel Barlow".
