En el tiempo trascurrido de 1912 a 1924, han tenido lugar algunos sucesos, sobre los cuales he puesto las notas respectivas; pero particularmente quiero llamar la atención del lector a la conducta observada por el Gobierno de la República del Ecuador que no ha querido cumplir el com promiso que contrajo con el Gobierno de Venezuela de entregar los restos mortales del Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Antonio José de Sucre, para ser colocados en el Panteón de Caracas. Allí ha quedado el Cenotafio vacío, pero la fama del ilustre muerto no solo llena la memoria de la an tigua Colombia, sino la del mundo entero.
