Y como aquel ilustre navegante iba en demanda de las Mclucas que demoran cerca de la equinocial, y obser varla además que los mares tropicales son más bonan cibles que los de las zonas templadas y polares, es pecialmente para los buques que navegan del E. Al O., á causa de los vientos generales que soplan per pétnamente en esta direccion, y los ingleses han de signado con el nombre de trade wind (viento del cc merelo), era natural que siguiese su rumbo or ellos, y que tropezase en el que ahora se llama Arc ip1elago Filipino, despues de haberse conocido por islas del Po niente, sino se inclinaba al hemisferio S. Y descubría Nueva Guinea 6 Aústralia.
