About the Author:
Pablo Neruda was Chile’s consul in Spain in 1934, and in those years he met the most important Spanish writers of his generation. In 1941 Neruda went to live in Mexico and then returned to his country where, in 1945, he was appointed a Congressman. In 1971 he won the Nóbel Prize for Literature and was designated Ambassador to Paris by President Salvador Allende.
