About the Author:
Andrew Hipp is the plant systematist and herbarium curator at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois. He is the author of several natural history books for children, a field guide to spring woodland wildflowers of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum, and scientific articles on the taxonomy and evolution of Carex. Rachel D.Davis received her M.F.A. in printmaking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Maria Cristina Brusca grew up on a ranch on the "pampas" of Argentina, where she rode a "caballo" and met many "vaqueros," She has written and illustrated many picture books, including "On the Pampas" and "My Mama's Little Ranch on the Pampas,"
Tona Wilson is a teacher of Spanish and English as a Second Language. Together, she and Cristina have retold many folktales form South America, including "The Cook and the King,"
Tony and Cristina live in Port Ewen, New York.
