Review:
"This is the most thorough and comprehensive text on human behavior that I have see. It brings together the preeminent sociological, physical, and anthological theories on human behavior and the social environment. It covers every possible scenario related to the practice of social work one could imagine. Nothing is sacrificed. The case studies reflected the diversity of the range of consumers of social work services and were utilized well as instruments for understanding and applying concepts." (Gretchen Heidemann)

"I like these books a great deal. I will continue to use the texts in my course. I like the way in which it exposes students to various theories. The dimensions for assessing human development and behavior are clear. Because I use both texts together, I feel that students gained an understanding on human development that is grounded in an environmental context." (Glenda Dewberry)

"Overall, I think the volume-set is excellent. I love the 'big idea' focus, and the attention to environmental context." (Jim Vanderwoerd)

"The three greatest strengths of the book are the inclusion of item/topics of spirituality, case studies, and active learning tasks. The chapters dealing with the lifespan (mainly young adult and beyond) and the opening chapters of both books (are also great strengths)." (Annalisa Enrile)

"I am greatly pleased with the text. It emphasized diversity. There are good illustrations that bring the concepts to life throughout. It is well organized. I teach in an urban context where students tend to practice with the poor. I like the questions that encourage critical thinking." (Kimberly Mann)

"Our faculty is quite satisfied with the textbooks, Dimensions of Human Behavior. The strengths of both volumes include the use of case studies, vignettes and side-bars to help students understand material contained in the chapter; the use of tables, figures and illustration; and the horizontal and vertical integration of materials connecting themes and models used in textbooks." (Parris Baker)

"The content of the two books is solid, strong, and comprehensive. It is also presented in a way that our students could make good use of it." (Elisabeth Reichert)

"I really liked this book. It is well written, informative, comprehensive, and interesting. The greatest strengths are the uniformity in writing style, cohesion among chapters, strong case examples, integration of learning within chapters, and an amazing ability to be comprehensive without the reader getting lost in the details."
(David Spruill)
