The chapters are a mix of scripture, facts, and jokes (which are often too young for the intended audience) as well as suggestions for what children can do to help planet Earth. The book has a literal view of the Bible and sometimes uses stories like that of Adam and Eve to make its point, but there are also topics like soil rejuvenation, the seasons, ice ages, and pesticides. Each chapter covers broad subjects, including recycling, climate change, and endangered species, and is subdivided into daily devotions. A section called “What Can I Do?” appears throughout; sometimes the answer is talking to God, but there are also hands-on suggestions, such as reducing water use or raising money to buy a gas grill instead of a charcoal grill to keep smoke out of the air.
