Stalking Season is a police procedural in the vein of the acclaimed 87th Precinct Series by Ed McBain, (Evan Hunter) and has been called "Lethal Weapon" with female leads set in Dallas.

In this second book of The Seasons Series,  Homicide Detective Sarah Kinsgly and her partner, Angel Johnson are pitted against another uncanny killer while still struggling to feel like real partners. Neither wanted the pairing in the first place, and it isn't getting any better.

A young girl is killed in a cheap motel, and when her identity is discovered, an influential Dallas businessman brings the heat down on the department. It isn't easy to work under the thumb of the mayor and the police commissioner, and it doesn't help that Lieutenant McGregor has his own issues with the brass.

The investigation takes the detectives inside an exclusive gentleman's club, a prestigious private school, and leads to a killer that surprises them all.

From the Author:
It is a thrill to have the second book in the Seasons Series available, and some readers have already told me that they liked this book even more than the first one. I am already working on the third book in the series, tentatively titled Out Of Season, and I will continue to work with Sarah and Angel as long as they remain fun and interesting characters. Sometimes I just never know what Sarah is going to do next. Neither does Angel, which always presents new challenges to the partnership.
From the Inside Flap:
A young girl is found murdered and left "posed" in a cheap motel room, and that is just the beginning of a bizarre case that brings Dallas Homicide Detectives, Sarah Kingsley and Angel Johnson, together again. The partnership still has not gelled since they were thrown together as unwilling partners six months ago, and they are dancing around each other trying not to push any hot buttons.

The murder victim is quickly identified as Tracy Clement, the daughter of a prominent Dallas land developer, and there is a lot of pressure to close this case quickly. The family all but accuses a young Hispanic man who met Tracy through a school mentoring and tutoring program and had a major crush on her. Daddy paid him to go away.

As the detectives are attempting to build a case around him, a second victim is found in another cheap motel, but this one is a prostitute. The MO is similar enough to the first murder to have the detectives think the two could be connected. But why would the young man kill a prostitute? When the pimp starts looking like a good suspect in the death of the prostitute, the question of why he would kill Tracy arises. So far, the detectives have found nothing to connect him to the young girl, and as Sarah reminds her boss, they cannot make evidence out of nothing.

Stalking Season is a police procedural in the vein of the acclaimed 87th Precinct Series by Ed McBain, (Evan Hunter) and has been called "Lethal Weapon" with female leads set in Dallas.
