Along the way he learns about the history of the gift from his uncle, who was the last to have the ability, gets assistance from a mysterious ally that has discovered his secret, and faces tough choices about how to use this gift. In the end, Chase must figure out a way to save the day and get noticed, which he very much desires, without giving away his secret.
