The Crossroads of a Wonderful Life: Treasured and Not So Treasured Memories captures the autobiographical recollections of George Quigley Langstaff Jr., beginning in 1925 with his boyhood years in a well-to-do family in West Kentucky. He recalls the devastating impact of the Great Depression, followed by a flood in 1937, which left his family in poverty, dismantling their comfortable arrangements.

Moving chronologically and divided into topical sections, the chapters of The Crossroads of a Wonderful Life tell of a long and fascinating journey through boyhood jobs, schooling, competitive sports, military service, blossoming love, a life of faith, engagement in business, political involvement, the blessings of family, personal portraits, and world travels. Along the way, The Crossroads of a Wonderful Life attends to the story of George Langstaff's climb from poverty to become a corporate Ceo and a management consultant.

Towards the end of his autobiography, the author writes, “I have attempted to give the readers insight into a life lived with joys, sorrows, challenges, successes, failures, poverty and plenty, failing in love but also world class success in love, a close knit and devoted family, many interests to keep one busy and a lifelong devotion to Christianity.” If you find yourself attracted to personal accounts of lives that embrace these common elements of human experience and that weather three-fourths of the twentieth century and then some, then The Crossroads of a Wonderful Life: Treasured and Not So Treasured Memories will speak to you.

Book Description Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - A West Kentucky boy from a well-to-do family experiences the trauma of the Great Depression, followed by the devastating flood of 1937. His family is thrown into poverty. His story of this tragedy and what followed is a fascinating journey through his challenges in childhood work, education, sports, military service, love, faith, business, politics, religion, family, and world travel. At the age of eighty-seven, he looked back on the many key events of his life and created an impressive autobiography-The Crossroads of a Wonderful Life: Treasured and Not-So-Treasured Memories, which he published and shared with family and friends. It was well received and now is offered to a larger audience. Witness the ups and downs of his and his family's lives-a remarkable replay of a business career that included noteworthy progress in a major company, almost unbelievable corporate intrigue, spying on the competition, CEO confrontation and early retirement, a new and exciting CEO role, public service, and his lifelong commitment to his Christian faith. Enjoy the wonderful travels and photos of his family and friends. Finally, he incorporates messages learned through life about his ideas for career selection by the young graduate, points for the new executive to consider, a financial plan for life, and evidences of his lifelong commitment to his Christian faith-all of this enhanced by a revealing collection of photographs.
