Every heroic tale has a beginning. However, that hero has to be brave enough to admit that sometimes his beginning may not be the most beautiful, the most charming, or even the cleanest beginning that has been recorded in all of history. Such was the tale of Herrick Rafin. A Fine Line: Herrick's Tale is the typical hero tale: save the fair maiden from the evil overlord and restore balance to the magical fantasy world; but with not so typical characters. In this story the maiden is not so weak and helpless, and the evil overlord was once the mentor of the half-breed rightful heir to a mystical order that Herrick must team up with in order to save the day. No one is really what they seem in this adventure that is filled with magic, adventure, and amusement.

About the Author:
Alison Sky Richards was born in Yonkers, NY. She attended Niagara University where she got a BA in Communications with a Journalism concentration in 2000. She also has a minor in technical theatre, where she studied all the background elements that go into creating a production for not only theatre, but for television and movies with classes in her Communications electives. Since college, she has also studied sword fighting and has held certificates of proficiency in both Broadsword and Short Sword with the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD). Her name has appeared on the internet in a few places over the last decade in both journalistic endeavors and creative fiction. A Fine Line: Herrick's Tale is her first self-published piece of standalone fiction. Alison is a yearly attendant to DragonCon during Labor Day weekend in Atlanta, GA. There, she works with her two writing mentors and friends, NYT Bestselling authors Aaron Allston and Michael Stackpole in the Writer’s Workshop track giving seminars to help strengthen your own work, as well as the publishing industry in general. Currently living in Nashville, TN with her best friend Bethany and two cats, Alison draws her inspiration from the creative energy surrounding the music community. When she isn’t working her day job, she is either at her local Starbucks working on her next writing project, or down at Bridgestone Arena cheering on her beloved Nashville Predators Hockey team. She can be reached on both her Facebook page and Twitter, as she operates both in the few remaining free minutes of her day.
